23.365 The Chains of Time by forever-just-jess 23.365 The Chains of Time by forever-just-jess
23/365

So here she is. My day 23. I'm not really sure what to say about this one. I guess I never really am. Those chains were sooo heavy though! I had to have my brother help me set them up and get them off. If he wanted to he could have left me and I would have been stuck. haha Enjoy! :D

I think this is a very interesting piece. It has such an amazing idea. This girl (you) is literally being weighed down by time. Those chains do look extremely heavy!

So how you got all your ratings:

Vision: I gave you 5 stars in vision because you had such an amazing idea and you very easily created what you saw in your head for others to see. Not always easy to do, so good work.
Originality: I gave you five stars here as well becuse this is something I have never seen done before and you executed this very well.
Technique: I gave you 4.5 for technique because it was quite well done, but I find the wrinkles in the sheets to be somewhat distracting. I understand that you don't have a professional studio seeing as you are only 14 so based on what supplies you do have you did well, just something to work on. Also the little piece of metal by yourleft elbow is slightly taking away from you, so I would see about removing that as well.
Impact: I gave you five stars for impact because you really did impact me. This picture has so much emotion in it and you gave it a wonderful title as well to stimulatte the thoughts. Very nice.

It's not very often a piece makes me stop and write a critique, so good job. Overall you have a very wonderful piece here and I look forward to seeing more of your work. :)

They go on the tractor when we have to blow snow off the driveway after a blizzard.

A very nice conceptual idea :thanks: For such highly symbolic images I personally like black and white images because they express a certain clarity and focus on the essentials. But that's just my opinion and only a suggestion to try it - if you like. :-)

I actually have a black and white image of it saved on my computer. I was debating which one to upload and my brother choose this one. :D

My dear Jessica, this really was not a criticism - just a suggestion ;-). But as you can see, everyone has its own opinion about this subject .... from there you can be sure That you'll never create incongruous images. :-)

You show an abnormal amount of wisdom for such a young age, have you suffered a personal tragedy (not losing a boyfriend, a real one) in life? Parents divorce? Death of a close family member? Or are you a mentally gifted minor?

No I have never had anything like that happen. (never had a boyfriend) parents still together. No family has died (that I know of) I don't think i'm a very mentally gifted minor though?
